Villa Langka Boutique Hotel to close
The iconic Villa Langka Boutique Hotel to close as the Covid-19 crisis continues to bite. The Villa Langka which according to its website “offers an oasis of calm in central BKK1 in Phnom Penh” announced via Facebook that July 4th would be their last of operations, with a sale taking place on July 5th.

The Villa Lanka Boutique Hotel
The hotel which has been somewhat of an institution in the capital for a number of years was usually full to capacity in normal times, but has struggled since the start of the pandemic.
They have recently been promoting long-stays at the hotel, which could be gotten for as little as $350 a month, as well as access to their pool for $10 in consumables per person.

Alas though it was seemingly not enough and with no end to the travel ban in clear site have decided to shut up shop.

Until relatively recently the hotel were still advertising some good long-stay and food deals, so the loss of one of the best swimming pools in Phnom Penh comes as a bit of a shock.
They released the followings statement via their Facebook
“It’s with a heavy heart today that we have to announce the closure of Villa Langka hotel.
We would like to thank our friends, guests , staffs ,suppliers for the amazing years full of memories.
The last day of operations will be July 4th 2021.
From Monday 5th,from 10am to 6pm we will start selling the furnitures and equipments, feel free to come have a look and buy a souvenir from Villa langka.

Sad news for those of us that like cocktails by a pool, but great news if you want to pick up some hotel based bargains. Khmer Nights will certainly be at that sale!
Where can I get some pool action in Phnom Penh now?
The good news is that while this fine establishment might be closing, there are indeed still a number of top-notch hotels and pools offering daily deals, as well as cheap monthly and weekly staycation type packages.
One such place being Patio Hotel and Urban Resort, who offer $190 per week promotion deals, as well as $10 per person in consumables to use the pool.
At some point Khmer Nights will review the best poolside deals in Phnom Penh, alas today is not that day…
