The Inaugural Khmer Nights Live Band of the Year Poll!
At Khmer Nights we place a lot of stock in the importance of the live music community here in the Kingdom, both as a contributor to culture in general, and as a proven economic spark for so many clubs and bars.
To that end we want to celebrate the bands that grace our live music listings week to week compiled by Cambodia’s leading live music news source, LengPleng.
And here’s how you figure in all of this. Select 5 bands from the form below and hit send. You don’t need to rank them as no doubt you will have enough difficult choices to make if you are an avid gig go-er.

Share the bejesus out of this article with your friends asking them to vote for their favourite groups and hopefully yours as well. We suspect the bands themselves will be doing the same. Attention whores that virtually all bands are? That’s a pretty safe bet!
The top band will be awarded a cheesy trophy of some description (possibly engraved!) and $50 to do with as they will. Our guess is they’ll drink it.
We haven’t forgotten the goodies for voters either. Three voters will be picked at random. Top prize for participating will a dinner for two at a Riverside favourite spot. Second and third prizes will be not quite that grand. But hey! You’re doing this for the love of live music…right?
Voting starts December 29 and will be open until January 6, with the Top 5 live bands being announced on Khmer Nights on January 7. We’ll add a few pics of the number one choice accepting their trophy (and the dosh!) along with a short “acceptance” interview in the January 14th live music listings.
