Sojourner House: Stay Unique in Siem Reap!

Siem Reap, Sojourner House is a unique accommodation option that offers more than just a place to stay. Owned and operated by Fiona, this boutique guesthouse provides a space for guests to connect, learn, and enjoy their time in one of Cambodia’s most vibrant cities. With a range of events and thoughtfully designed rooms, Sojourner House stands out as a must-visit destination for travelers.

Fiona, the driving force behind Sojourner House, shares her journey: “The idea behind it is to create a space where guests can connect with each other, maybe learn or experience something new, and enjoy their time in Siem Reap, whether they’re on vacation or they live here.” This vision has been the cornerstone of Sojourner House since its inception in March.

A Tribute to Inspirational Women

Each room at Sojourner House is dedicated to a woman who has made a significant impact in fields such as art, activism, and science. “I didn’t learn about any of these women at school, and each is so inspirational, that I wanted more people to know about them,” Fiona explains. The six women celebrated in the rooms are diverse and from different time periods and places, making the design process both interesting and fun. This thoughtful theme not only educates but also inspires guests during their stay.

While Sojourner House is primarily a child-free zone to maintain a peaceful environment, children are welcome during whole-villa bookings and certain events.

“We don’t hate children,” she said,” This is simply because it helps maintain a peaceful environment for relaxation and for people working in our soon-to-open air-conditioned indoor workspace,” Fiona clarified.

Engaging Events and Community Focus

One of the highlights of Sojourner House is its regular events, including life drawing sessions and poolside screenings of movies, TV shows, and documentaries. Fiona proudly shares, “The main highlights so far have been the overwhelmingly positive response to our woman-themed rooms and seeing people enjoy and make meaningful connections during the events we’ve held.” These events are open to locals, expats, and visitors, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.

Sojourner House is also committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in Siem Reap. “We’re proud and super excited to be part of PRIDE Siem Reap celebrations this year and helping to further promote inclusivity and diversity in our community,” Fiona says. This dedication to community engagement and social impact makes Sojourner House a valuable addition to Siem Reap’s hospitality scene.
