No manager, no problem – Visakha FC 5 Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC 0

Visakha entered the match supposedly under pressure after parting ways with Colum Curtis, but results don’t lie and Visakha FC 5 Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC 0 speaks for itself.

First Half – Visakha FC 2 Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC 0

No one was quite sure if the recent turmoil would somehow dampen the home teams resolve, that was until the 28th minute when Sin Kakadu slotted home after a Visakha free-kick . The lead was then doubled by star ex-Premier League forward Markus Haber in the 34 minute, all but extinguishing any hope for Kirivong going into the break.

Second Half – Visakha FC 5 Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC 0

To be fair to Kirivong Sok Sen Chey, they refused to give up and despite largely being dominated had a few decent chances on goal. Alas it was not to be their day, with Visakha scoring 3 goals in a 15 minute blitz, with Haber grabbing a second, before Nigerian substitute Ajayi netted two goals in the dying 5 minutes to truly end the match in emphatic fashion.

What does it mean?

Visakha FC now sit firmly at the summit of the C-League table and with goal difference likely to play a factor later on, netting 5 certainly did them no harm. Veteran Markus Haber again showed he is far from past his best and Visakha FC looked extremely strong as a whole.

Kirivong are stuck firmly in 8th place and due to the rules of Phase 2 can finish no lower than this, but unless they have an unlikely cup run, their season is essentially all but over.

And the Prince Stadium

Visakha FC have not wasted any time during lockdown and their renovations to the Prince Stadium are all but complete, They now boast arguably the best club stadium in the country. Alas, they still don’t sell any food, or drinks. Still I’d rather be here than at 7NG.
