Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival 2025: A Celebration of Culture, Connection, and Fun!

Phnom Penh is about to get a vibrant dose of Japanese culture as the Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival 2025 gears up for another exciting edition! From February 13 to 16, the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC) will transform into a hub of cultural exchange, creativity, and community spirit—all under the theme “The Harmony of Diversity.”

For those who haven’t been, the Kizuna Festival is the event for anyone who loves Japanese culture, wants to learn something new, or just enjoys a fun day out. Organized by the Embassy of Japan, the CJCC, and the Japan Foundation Asia Centre, this annual festival has been running since 2012, bringing together the best of Japan and Cambodia for a four-day celebration of food, art, and traditions.

What to Expect at the Kizuna Festival?

Think traditional Japanese Yukata try-ons, Khmer and Japanese calligraphy workshops, and martial arts demonstrations that will leave you in awe. Feeling artsy? There will be art exhibits and hands-on workshops to unleash your inner creativity.

But let’s be honest—one of the biggest highlights? The food. You’ll find an array of Japanese snacks and treats, from fluffy dorayaki pancakes to comforting bowls of ramen. And if you’re lucky, you might catch a live cooking demo showcasing the art of sushi or the delicate flavors of Japanese sweets.

A Friendship Built to Last

Japan and Cambodia share a long-standing friendship that extends beyond festivals. Over the years, Japan has played a key role in Cambodia’s development, supporting projects in education, infrastructure, and cultural preservation
