International Women’s Day in Siem Reap

Honouring women with a special day began more than 100 years ago and is now observed in more than 30 countries around the world, including as a public holiday in Cambodia. 

Here are some events on March 8th in Siem Reap perfect for treating the amazing women in your life. 

Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort 

Sofitel is hosting an International Women’s Day golf tournament kicking off at noon. It’s $50 for members, or $90 for non-members and includes a barbecue dinner. For more information, or to book go to: 

If you’re looking for something to do in the evening, DJ Pinkbits will play from 6-9 pm at the Explorer’s Tales Bar, with a Happy Hour special of 50% off all drinks from 6-7 pm.

Tevy’s Place 

Tevy’s Place on St. 26 has a Celebration Breakfast for International Women’s Day, and is offering 50% off all breakfast items. Supporting Tevy’s helps keep staff employed and “allows the staff to develop new skills and to express their unique, special selves with dignity, strength, and independence”. 

Sahak Pop-up Market 

Located in the garden of BIOLAB Coffee on Wat Bo Road, it features women entrepreneurs showcasing their products and services. The event runs from 9 am until 7 pm, and includes a jewelry-making workshop, a chance to play some educational games, and a lucky draw.

Navutu Dreams Resort

Navutu has a Women’s Fire Circle on from 4:30-7:30 pm that is by donation. It starts with holistic meditation, next a social hour of live music, cocktails, and wine, then ends with a fire circle of guided meditation for peace. 

For anyone not able to make that event, the resort is also offering a 30% discount in their restaurant and spa treatments for the day. 

FCC 

FCC has a special afternoon Tea for Two on from 3-5 pm. For $15 you get High Tea nibbles and two glasses of bubbles. Reservations must be made in advance. 

They’ve also added a special room promotion running from March 7-12th to celebrate the day. It includes a spa treatment and a bottle of bubbles, with a minimum two night stay. More info can be found at: 

Fellini 

Italian restaurant Fellini promises a romantic evening featuring live music and oysters. Sokunthea Duk will be singing accompanied by bass player Andrey Meshcheryakov. There will be fresh oysters available for $3 each. 

Cloud Sanctuary 

This Divine Feminine Women’s Day Gathering will have gentle & restorative yoga, meditation, oracle card readings, chanting, and sharing in a conscious community. It begins at 5 pm and is available online or in-person. To book contact Beth Parasmo via FB Messenger.

Sala Bai Hotel & Restaurant School 

Sala Bai has a lunch promotion from 12-2 pm that has a complimentary cocktail or mocktail for every woman. With 70% of the students being women, supporting this event helps empower them. You can contact their FB page to make a booking:
