Inside Bong’s Design: A Conversation with Founder Sambath Sok
Meet Sambath Sok, or Kbat as he’s affectionately known. He’s the mastermind behind Bong’s Design, an online platform transforming how Cambodians explore their creativity. “Our business offers an online space for everyone in Cambodia to explore their creativity freely,” he shares. “We provide a wide range of custom design services and products, empowering individuals to discover and express their unique style and vision.”
Bong’s Design has thrived by staying ahead of industry trends, continuously expanding its skill set, and offering unique products. “This growth has allowed us to take on more complex projects and experiment with new technologies like 3D printing,” Sambath reveals, pointing to the innovative spirit that propels the business forward.
From Pandemic Birth to Industry Dream
Bong’s Design was born in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, with its website launching in June 2023. Their first public appearance was at the CULT Christmas event at Sofitel later that year. “Our dream is to become a leading name in the design industry, known for our creativity, innovation, and client-centric approach,” Sambath explains.
The timing couldn’t be better. “The design industry is rapidly evolving, and there is a growing demand for fresh, innovative ideas. We are poised to meet this demand with our agility and forward-thinking approach,” he states. Bong’s Design is gearing up for the FACTORY Fashion Avenue Event on June 22-23, an opportunity to connect with the community and showcase their latest creations.

For Sambath, his love for Cambodia is deeply personal. “I am a Phnom Penh-born and raised graduate of the Royal University of Fine Arts, and I am proud of my home Cambodia,” he shares. The rich heritage and culture in the arts inspire him to blend traditional techniques with modern forms, connecting with like-minded creatives to shape the future of Cambodian design.
