Five-Star Prince Times Hotel set to ramp up things in Sihanoukville

For the longest time, Sihanoukville has resembled a building site rather than a tourist mecca, but Prince Times Hotel say that the future is looking bright for this coastal city.

Originally opened in 2008, the hotel is located close to the main beach, and strategically placed in the tourist centre of the city. Boasting a number of first-class amenities, the hotel promotes itself as the  “city’s premier five-star establishment”.

The hotel’s general manager Simon Chong said: “Prince Times Hotel has been built to the highest international standards and offers the best in luxury facilities, while we maintain and improve the famous Cambodian hospitality. And with the recent development bringing top-quality infrastructure and services, Prince Times Hotel stands ready to represent the modern Sihanoukville that Cambodia is set to show the world.”

Sihanoukville as a tourist mecca

While Sihanoukville certainly has its detractors, particularly due to the constant sightof on/off construction, it still represents not only the main beach resort of Cambodia, but also the gateway to the islands of Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem.

Cambodia recently removed the mandatory 14-day quarantine requirement on international visitors, meaning that Sihanoukville and its hotels are very much open and ready for business. And things are lately starting to improve with Mr Chang for one being extremely optimistic about next year.

“Next year for the hotel sector will be fantastic. When international tourism returns to Cambodia, Sihanoukville will receive large numbers of tourists because people really do enjoy coming here. Here we have the best of everything – entertainment, the beach, the islands, just to mention a few.

“Over the period of the recent Water Festival, for example, we hit some 70 per cent without really advertising. So I am confident that the Cambodian tourism market will return next year,” he further added.

Prince Times Hotel facilities

The hotel certainly lives up to its five-star credentials, with 193 luxury ocean view rooms, a state-of-the-art gym, and arguably the best swimming pool in the city.

And of course there is food and drink too, with a southeast Asian restaurant, a genuinely authentic Chinese restaurant, as well as a well-priced sky bar offering one of the best views of the Sihanoukville city and beach landscape.

And for the really high-end, there is even a helipad on the roof, for those not willing to wait until the Phnom Penh – Sihanoukville highway is completed.

The hotel also proudly boastss no casino, meaning a more family-friendly environment, which Chang further states gives it more “broad appeal”.

Who are Prince Group?

The hotel is owned by Prince Group, a Cambodian-based multinational owned and led by entrepreneur Chen Zhi. The group has interests in a number of fields from property to security and even football clubs. The chairman is also a renowned philanthropist having recently donated $2M to Laos’ anti-COVID efforts among others.
