Angkor Tigers 3 vs 1 Electricitie du Cambodge – Looking at the results of EDC you’d assume they were not a great side, but once again they not only played great, but truly put up a spirited performance. EDC are basically the only side in the league without foreign stars, and this should be remembered.

Angkor Tiger FC are top of the league for a reason and they came at their stadium fighting from the start. It would take a mere 11 minutes of pressure before Bunnath Chhong slotted in the first goal. This was followed up on the 30th minute when Brazilian playmaker and arguably the man of the match Da Cruz sent a screamer into the back of the EDC net, 4 minutes later Ata Jesse Inla, another foreign star put the hosts 3—0 up with an easily taken goal.
Second half – Angkor Tigers 3 vs 1 Electricitie du Cambodge
EDC truly came out fighting and despite their youth and lack of foreign marque players really made a match of things, going close on a number of occasions. This fighting spirit also lifted the tempo of the match by quite a few octaves, with there being 3 yellow cards before the final whistle.
EDCFC finally got something out of the match in the 82 minute when youngster Vannak Chin received a cross from the the wing before sinking the ball into the net. Merely a consolation goal on he face of things, but also just deserts after a spirited display from the underdogs.

This was a true top vs bottom affair, Angkor Tigers are now in first place 5 points clear of 2nd on 17 points. For poor old EDCFC one win in five matches leaves them in 11th, 3 points above bottom placed Saltilo Angkor FC.

Which stadium do Angkor Tigers FC play in?
This is where Cambodian football teams get really confusing. They play at the SRU Stadium, short for Siem Reap United Stadium, and on their shirts it Says Siem Reap United, but the club are called Angkor Tigers. Definitely one of the best stadiums in the country, with a capacity for 5000 plus fans, as well as a club shop. You can pick buy a Angkor Tiger FC football shirt for $15. For such a great stadium though the pitch was in an extremely bad state, which certainly affected the speed of the match.
