Crossing from Aranyaprathet to Poipet?

If you have a visa this involves simply crossing over, if you don’t it means paying $35 for a tourists visa. Yes we know it should be 30, but those be the brakes….

Do not under any circumstance under circumstance use one of the hawkers outside, there is a reason they are so desperate for your business and that is because they are ripping you off. This goes the same for anyone offering you transport.

Poipet to Battambang, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh

Battambang isn’t Siem Reap! Yes, we know, but it is another option. The bus from Poipet to Battambang costs $6, the same as to Siem Reap, with each journey taking about 5 hours.

Alternatively there are night buses for $10 to Siem Reap, to closer to $15 to Phnom Penh.

If you are really baller you can get a private car to Siem Reap for $35/40, great value if you have a few of you in tow.

Keep in mind though that they will drop you at a TukTuk that wants to sell you tours and if you share your number with them they will message you all the time asking if you want a taxi.

And that $7.50-$11.50 is the cheapest way from Bangkok to Siem Reap.
