Celebrate Khmer New Year with Purpose at the Songkran Heritage Charity Event 2025

Songkran Heritage

This April, Phnom Penh is set to host a Songkran celebration like no other. On Saturday, April 5, the vibrant and community-focused Songkran Heritage Charity Event 2025 will bring together tradition, creativity, and generosity in a full-day festival at Factory Phnom Penh, located opposite the Urban Village showroom.

More than just a festive gathering, this unique event aims to raise over $10,000 in support of three inspiring local charities: Shanty Town Spirit Association, Les Restaurants Des Enfants (LRDE), and Golden Charity. By fusing cultural celebration with philanthropic action, the event is inviting Cambodians, expats, visitors, and businesses alike to unite in support of meaningful causes that strengthen the social fabric of the country.

From 10 AM to 5 PM, attendees will experience the heart of Cambodian culture through traditional music, Khmer dance, and a curated collection of Made-in-Cambodia products. Guests are encouraged to wear traditional Khmer attire to embrace the spirit of the New Year and add color to the celebration. Entry is granted through a small donation, which can be exchanged for locally made items—making it a celebration with tangible impact.

Booths across the venue will highlight the diversity of Cambodian craftsmanship and agricultural excellence. Live painting sessions, silk kroma stalls, dried fruit vendors, Kampot pepper tastings, carved wooden decor, and even premium bird’s nest products will all be on display, showcasing the best of what Cambodia creates. Every purchase contributes directly to the charity beneficiaries, meaning every riel spent goes toward making a difference.

The event is spearheaded by a collaborative team including the Infinity Program first creation team, the Cambodia Chinese Commerce Association (CCCA), the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Factory Phnom Penh, and Urban Village. They are joined by supporting partners such as the Cambodia Tourism Association and the Women’s Association, both of which will host their own dedicated booths.

In keeping with its community-first approach, the event is also being promoted through grassroots networks, social media platforms, and word of mouth. Everyone involved has been encouraged to personally invite five guests—an organic outreach strategy that reflects the shared commitment to the cause.
