Cambodia 1 Philippines 0
After the Philippines were surprisingly held to a 2-2 draw against East Timor, this was a match that Cambodia were projected as winning comfortably. But in the end it was a rather boring game for those who made the long journey to the Morodok Techo Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Cambodia would seal the win with an 81st minute goal from Sin Sovannmakara. It might not have been pretty but it was enough to see them on through to the semi-finals.
Timor Leste 3 Brunei 1
In the slightly more entertaining encounter of the day, Timor-Leste smashed tiny Brunei 3-1 and now have a very good chance of reaching the next stage for the first time in their history.
Brunei initially took a shock lead, but Timor responded with goals from Mouzinho de Lima (30’) and Paulo Gali (45+1’). A final insult was delivered via an own goal by Brunei skipper Muhammad Aminuddin (81’).

The best of the rest?
Due to Indonesia and Myanmar both dropping out, Group B consists of just two teams, Malaysia and Laos. That “group” is now essentially a two-leg playoff between those sides. Laos ran out as shock winners 1-0 in the initial game. That left them in the driving seat for qualification.
In Group C, Thailand spanked Singapore 3-1 at the Prince Stadium. Their match against Vietnam on February 22nd will likely be the deciding factor in who qualifies for the next round.
