BritCham to Host Signature Scottish Burns Night Gala Dinner in Phnom Penh

The British Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (BritCham) is set to host its annual Scottish Burns Night Gala Dinner—a celebration of tradition, culture, and community. Taking place on Saturday, 25th January 2025 at the iconic Raffles Hotel Le Royal, this highly anticipated event will honor the life and legacy of Scottish poet Robert Burns while bringing together the local and expatriate communities in Cambodia’s capital.

A Celebration of Scottish Tradition

Burns Night is a cherished Scottish tradition that celebrates the works of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns. It is a night of poetry, music, and dancing, typically accompanied by a traditional Scottish meal that includes haggis, neeps, and tatties. The Phnom Penh event promises to deliver an authentic experience, complete with the iconic address to the haggis—a key highlight of the evening.

This year’s gala dinner will see the attendance of Dominic Williams, British Ambassador to Cambodia, alongside BritCham members, business leaders, diplomats, and guests from the wider community. It will be an opportunity to celebrate Scotland’s rich cultural heritage while strengthening community bonds.

Fine Dining and Entertainment

Guests will enjoy a specially curated fine dining experience prepared by the chefs at Raffles Hotel Le Royal, one of Phnom Penh’s most prestigious venues. The meal will feature authentic Scottish haggis, flown in directly from Scotland to ensure the highest quality and authenticity.

Complementing the dining experience, attendees will be treated to a selection of premium Scottish whiskies and wines, generously provided by event sponsor Pernod Ricard. The evening’s entertainment will include live performances by Kheltica, a renowned Celtic band known for their traditional Scottish tunes, and Scottish dancing, led by the charismatic Kilted Teacher Ross.
