Asian Getaways – Travel to Syria from Cambodia

With so much in between, would you go as far afield as Syria for a getaway? And if so can you travel to Syria from Cambodia? This was a question I was to have resoundingly answered for me.

Can you even travel to Syria?

A common question and indeed a common misconception. In fact Syria is no longer largely not at war anymore, but is proving a highly popular tourist destination. And it is one being promoted by the government too.

This means that for your average tourist, such as Cambodian nationals getting a visa to travel to Syria is not all that hard.

Travel to Syria from Cambodia

As you’d expect there are no direct flights from Cambodia to Syria, with travelers needing to transit in the Middle-east, for this the best options are Dubai, or Abu Dhabi, on to Beirut.

Sadly flying to Aleppo and Damascus are less of an option since Israel decided to bomb them.

Lebanon itself is also a country not without its issues, but with its land border it is also the best route if you want to travel to Syria from Cambodia.

And when you get to Syria?

Syria is done as a group tour and there are government controls meaning that you cannot freestyle travel to the country. This though is not necessarily a bad thing and a group tour to the country will show you the good, bad and the ugly of the recent troubles with which the country has gone through.

It also offers the perfect opportunity to hear the other side of the story, particularly as the world slowly becomes more multi-polar as Cold War 2.0 slowly slips into play.

And the cost? That will depend on you, but with flights and full tour service with Young Pioneer Tours can be kept to under 4k USD.
