On a rain swept day to in the boonies of AEU Park Nagaworld had come with title hopes in mind. Japanese playmaker Fumiya Kogure put the away team ahead on the 8th minute with a well taken goal, before doubling the lead with a second a few minutes later. At this point it looked like it would be a Nagaworld onslaught with Tola Nub adding two more in relatively quick succession. It was at this point though that the game got interesting AEU were 4-0 down, Chanrasmey Suk fired one back on he counter attack, it was now 4-1. AEU were then awarded a blatant penalty, which was superbly saved only for Gbenga Samuel Ajayi to do a Kane and slam in the rebound. We now had game on our hands.

As the rain started ti pour AEU really started to look good and ended up 4-3 down after a bizarre second goal from Chanrasmey Suk, the Nagaworld keeper was seemingly playing with the ball only for the Cambodian froward to literally tackle him and put it in the net. A god awful goal to let-in, but it looked like we would have a match. AEU continued to look like they might get an equalizer, but in the end Talo Nub completed his hat-trick for a win that looks far better on paper than it was.

What does it mean?

Nagaworld got the result they needed and are second in the table, with AEU in 9th and nearer relegation than they might like. There is though still a long way left in the season.

Where do Asia Euro United FC Play?

They play at AEU park that looks like it could fit in a few thousand people per match. There is no club shop, but a store selling soft-drinks, better than Kampot FC to be fair.

To read about watching football in Kampot click here.

To get here involves a ride on a ferry, which is rather pleasant, but visiting here will show you exactly why all the players commune to work from Phnom Penh.
