Siem Reap Raffles Launches Exhibit of Local Artists

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, in collaboration with Tribe Art Gallery, has unveiled an exhibition spotlighting extraordinary Khmer artists.

This month-long showcase, which began with an exclusive event on May 9, will continue until December 31, featuring a rotating selection of leading Cambodian artists whose works will be displayed throughout the hotel’s public areas, including the 1932 restaurant, Café d’Angkor, the Conservatory, the Elephant Bar, and the lobby.

The exhibition kicked off with paintings by artists Nak Noy and Prom Ponlue, initially displayed in the Kravan Room for one week before being moved to other public areas of the hotel. Noy’s artwork invites viewers into a world of dreamlike escapism, reflecting his vivid imagination and roots in Siem Reap. He began creating art as a child, inspired by his sister’s drawings. Ponlue’s pieces, on the other hand, breathe life into forgotten culture, emphasizing a strong connection with nature and his homeland. His art offers viewers a vision of peace, freedom, and love.

Both artists are represented by Tribe Art Gallery and curator Nat Di-Maggio. Throughout the year, other acclaimed artists will also be featured.
