All Square in Kampong Speu as Crown Stumble. CPL Week 21: Review

Svay Rieng look certain to finish top of the pile..

It would take a very brave person to bet against Svay Rieng finishing top this season as Crown dropped two more points in their chase.

AIA stadium was packed for the visit of Svay Rieng and the fans were not disappointed as the two teams played out a six goal thriller. Svay Rieng were 3-0 up after an hour with Haber grabbing two and Costa just after half time. ISI did fight back though with two goals setting up a potentially nail biting finish but Svay Rieng scored almost immediately after ISI giving them a 4-2 win.

Crown were not at their best and Nagaworld were good value for their point and could’ve probably won the game had they been more ruthless on front of goal. Yuta scoring just after half time before Thiva equalised.

CPL Week 21: Review

Kirivong & Tiger both win….

The bottom two both picked up 3 points with displays showing great character and quality. Tiger came from a goal down, at Hanuman Stadium in Siem Reap, against a Tiffy Army team playing like their season is over. Take nothing away from Tiger and they second half display though, they were simply brilliant.

Elsewhere on Kirivong, they smashed Prey Veng from minute 1 to 90 in a display that is becoming very common from Prey Veng. Capable of such brilliance but also capable of being smashed by anyone anywhere.

Vishaka almost guaranteed third place….

Vishaka came from behind at the National Stadium in Phnom Penh as they overcame play off rivals Boeung Ket. This was a must win game for Vishaka having lost their previous two games and they would have been feeling under pressure when they went in at half time 0-1 down.  The second half was a much more dominant display and the type of performance that might convince people they could be the outside tip for the title. They’ll finish third but when it comes to the play off rounds, this Vishaka team are capable of beating anyone and on the big occasions they tend to deliver. Watch this space!!
