Phnom Penh To Saigon

Getting to Saigon, or as the cool kids call it Ho Chi Minh City from Phnom Penh is pretty easy and hassle free. Essentially it is a 6 hour bus journey that leaves from downtown and costs anywhere from $20-60 depending on the comfort level that you desire.

On arrival you are greeted with everything you could want from Saigon, with it having street food to die for, as well as high end bars and restaurants and of course an amazing nightlife.

Taking the train from Saigon to Nah Trang

Nha Trang is the famous beach resort of Vietnam, that is very popular with Russian people – and yes they are very much still traveling right now. It is also popular with Cheeses and Vietnamese locals, offering pristine beaches, not to mention great seafood.

In fact it would be very easy to lose a few days here, depending on your schedule, with the city being much more family friendly and less seedy than in yesteryear.

Oh and you can get here by train, which takes just over 8 hours and runs like a dream, particularly if you manage to score a room by yourself.

And on to Da Lat

Getting to Da Lat will involve a bus rather than a train, but it only takes a few hours and will deliver you to a rather cool mountainside backdrop. If you have pent any sort of time in Cambodia it is worth the joinery here simply to cool down.

Da Lat itself is also a beautiful city famous for its gardens, but also offering some other choice amenities that make it such a choice destination. Chief among these is the famous night market which quite literally offers seafood and meat feast for as far as the eye can see. I have always said that Vietnam has the best street food in the world, and Da Lat has to be near the top for Vietnam as a whole.

And where to sleep you ask? Well it has to be in the Crazy House names so for its architecture rather than any imminent chance of being murdered you understand…

It really is hard to describe this place, so I will simply let the pictures do the talking for it.

Said trip can be done in as littler as 4 days, with this making Nha Trang and Da Lat one of the Asian getaways that you can realistically do from Phnom Penh.
