Phnom Fem Fest 2025: Celebrate Women, Arts, and Culture in Cambodia

Phnom Penh’s most vibrant celebration of female empowerment, Phnom Fem Fest (PFF), returns on March 8, 2025, in honor of International Women’s Day. Held at F3 Futures Factory, this annual festival has become a cultural landmark, championing Cambodian women and their allies through music, art, discussions, and workshops. If you’re in Phnom Penh, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
Founded in 2019 by long-term Cambodia resident Shauna O’Mahony, Phnom Fem Fest was created to bring women together in a space of support, creativity, and empowerment. O’Mahony, inspired by her experience performing in The Vagina Monologues, wanted to create a platform that celebrated women’s voices while being culturally relevant to Cambodia. This year, the festival shifts its focus toward Khmer arts, promising a deeply immersive and locally rooted experience.
A Celebration of Music, Art, and Dialogue
From electrifying live music to thought-provoking discussions, the lineup for Phnom Fem Fest 2025 is stacked with talent. Cambodian singer Sang Sok Serey will debut her new song, Her Voice, a rallying cry for gender equality. “Too many women talk of blame, shame, and silence,” Serey shared. “I want to amplify their voices and challenge outdated mindsets.”

For those eager to dive into meaningful discussions, the Chhab Slay series will explore traditional gender expectations in Cambodia. Featuring feminist influencers like Catherine Harry, author So Phina, and artist Chhan Dina, the discussions will tackle pressing topics on women’s rights, leadership, and the evolving cultural landscape.
Creative Workshops and Exhibitions
Hands-on workshops will provide festivalgoers with unique learning experiences. Sisters of Code, Cambodia’s first female-focused coding initiative, will host free workshops introducing participants to coding through fun and interactive projects—no experience required! Meanwhile, live painting by renowned artist PILAT (Denmark) and local illustrator Ket Monnyreak will bring a visual explosion to the event.
Visitors can also explore a stunning photography exhibition by Miguel Jeronimo, showcasing the women of Cambodia’s Kui Indigenous Community. Their collection of handcrafted products and storytelling sessions will highlight their ongoing efforts in sustainable farming and forest conservation.
A Free Festival with a Purpose
With free entry and an expected turnout of over 1,000 attendees, Phnom Fem Fest is more than just a celebration—it’s a movement.
