The 8th Angkor Ultra Trail will take place on January 18 in Siem Reap, drawing runners from 44 countries to experience one of the world’s most unique race routes. Khon emphasized the event’s dual purpose: to promote sports and healthy living among Cambodians while also boosting tourism and the local economy. “The Angkor Ultra Trail shows the world that Cambodia is a peaceful and beautiful country, rich in natural wonders and home to welcoming people,” he said.

While the Angkor Ultra Trail is the flagship event, plans are already in motion to expand Cambodia’s running scene to other stunning locations. The NOCC and Phoenix Voyages are exploring potential routes in the Cardamom Mountains, Sihanoukville, and Mondulkiri—each offering unique landscapes and cultural experiences.
